DISTRICT #1 APPROVED THIS AMENDMENT TO THE GEORGE E. BROWN AWARD
GUIDELINES AT THE AUGUST 28, 2010 MEETING
AMENDMENT TO THE GEORGE E. BROWN AWARD GUIDELINES
1. The nominee must be an active member of a church usher ministry located in
District #1.
2. The nominee must be involved in District #1 activities and have attended a minimum
of two District #1 Meetings and a minimum of 15 District #1 Annual Usher Days
during the period of September 1st of the prior year to August 31st of the current year
of being nominated for the award, i.e., the period for the 2010 award is September 1,
2009 to August 31, 2010.
3. The nominee and the nominee’s church usher ministry must be in good financial
standing.
4. The nominee must exemplify the attributes of a Christian usher.
5. The nominator must submit a reason for nominating the nominee.
6. The nominee must be nominated by a District #1 usher or self-nominated
7. All information included on the nomination form must be typed.
8. The Church Usher Ministry President must sign the nomination form. If the Church
Usher Ministry President is the nominee, the Church Usher Ministry Vice President
must sign the nomination form.
9. The nomination form must be postmarked no later than September 30th or in the
possession of the chairperson/and or a committee member no later than September
30th.
10. In the event the Strategic Committee does not receive any complete nomination forms,
the Strategic Committee will select an award recipient in accordance with the above
guidelines numbers 1 through 7.
